The aim of Youth Action Sussex Ltd. is to offer all young people between the ages of 16-25 an equal opportunity to improve their personal, vocational and social skills so that they are able to make a valuable contribution to the community in which they live.
We are a small charity that manages two projects, both of which support young people in Brighton and Hove to to learn new skills and engage with their communities. RASP supports young refugees and asylum seekers to actively engage in their communities via a mentoring and befriending project that relies on volunteers for support and also enables the young people to volunteer in the wider community. The second project is a supported volunteering project for young people who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) or who have disabilities. We will source suitable and supportive volunteering placements for young people and support them through the application process and throughout their time volunteering.
Both projects result in a wider community benefit locally, through other charities and community groups having increased numbers volunteers. Both projects also aim to break down negative stereotypes of young people and promote understanding and learning.
