Youth Action Sussex supports young people between the ages of 16-25 to activley engage in their communities.

If you’re aged between 16 and 25, no matter what your interests are, whether you’ve volunteered before or what kind of skills and experience you have, there is a volunteer activity that will suit you. Whether you are at school, college, university, working part time or full time, undergoing training or unemployed, you can find something that fits around your spare time and will be in an area that interests you. Please see www.do.it.org.uk or www.vinspired.com. These websites will enable you to find up to date and relevant volunteering opportunities for you.

Volunteering is a great way to improve your skills and increase your confidence. It can provide the opportunity to try something new and gain work experience and at the same time to help other people in your community.

YAS currently runs a project called RASP that supports young refugee and asylum seekers in Brighton and Hove. If you are a young refugee or asylum seeker based in Brighton and Hove and would like to get involved with RASP, please e-mail brightonrasp@yahoo.co.uk. If you would like to become a volunteer befriender for RASP, please contact the project using the same e-mail address.

YAS will soon be launching a supported volunteering project for young people with disabilities and young people who are NEET (not in education, employment or training). If you are aged between 16-25 and have a disability or are NEET and would like to access support to gain an inspiring and fun volunteer placement, please get in touch. We will also provide you with national Certificates on reaching certain milestones to recognise your time, dedication and positive impact through volunteering.
